She is also the Associate Minister of Health (Pacific Peoples) and Associate Minister of Housing.
Titahi Bay, Porirua has been home to Barbara, her husband Chris (Ngā Puhi) and their eight children for the last 12 years. She is honoured to be the MP for Mana and for the opportunity to serve the place she loves.
Before entering Parliament, Barbara acted as a senior advisor to ministers under successive governments and was a key contributor to the government’s law reforms following the 15 March 2019 terror attacks. She is proud of her work in helping to make Aotearoa New Zealand a safer place.
Barbara was also heavily involved in the government’s tax, social policy, small business, and economic responses to COVID-19.
