Pacific Language Cards

Our Pacific language cards are available in nine Pacific languages: Cook Islands Māori, Fijian, Kiribati, Niue, Rotuman, Samoa, Tokelau, Tuvalu and Tonga. They are tailored to non-speakers of the language as a good starting point for all to use. Each provide a pronunciation guide, the alphabet, everyday phrases,  a short prayer and hymn.

Yavu - Foundations of Pacific Engagement

Yavu provides guidance on how to have engagement with Pacific Peoples that is culturally responsive and sustainable. It outlines steps for effective engagement through building, nurturing and maintaining relationships. Yavu can be utilised to improve culturally appropriate engagement with Pacific peoples.

Kapasa - The Pacific Policy Analysis Tool

Kapasa is a tool for policy managers, advisers and analysts within government agencies to incorporate the perspectives of Pacific peoples in the generic policy development process. The framework sets out ways to effectively include information about Pacific peoples, take account of their values and their diversity, as well as ensuring effective consultation with them in the policy development process.  It is hoped that in applying Kapasa, the outcome will lead to better quality policy advice about Pacific peoples.
