Advisor – People and Culture

  • Wellington location

  • Fixed Term until 30 July 2021, Full-Time

  • Growing and dynamic organisation

 About us

The Ministry for Pacific Peoples is the principal advisor on policies and interventions that improve outcomes for Pacific Peoples. We bring the Pacific voice, perspective and understanding into policy and Ministry led initiatives. We can do this because of the time we spend nurturing our relationships with our  people. These relationships are crucial to what we do and enable us to prioritise the changes that will ensure more of our Pacific people can lead fulfilling lives.

We have an exciting and challenging opportunity in our national office for an experienced HR professional.  The position of Advisor, People and Culture exists to coordinate the recruitment and on boarding process, provide quality HR advice and support to people managers, and to coordinate core human resources operational policies, initiatives, and processes across the Ministry. This fixed term role is to provide cover for an incumbent on Parental Leave.

The role is diverse, and we are looking for a solid HR all-rounder who can hit the ground running. If you are results driven and passionate about enabling better outcomes for pacific communities in New Zealand, then we want to hear from you!

About you

You will be adaptable, with an eye for detail and you will enjoy providing fit for purpose advice and solutions. Ideally, but not necessarily you will have the ability to speak a Pacific language and have some knowledge of and empathy for the organisation's journey and values.

      • You will have a qualification in Human Resources Management or equivalent experience
      • You will be curious and a great multi-tasker
      • Looking for the next move in a values-based organisation

Being part of our small and agile team means having a real opportunity to make a difference to the People and Culture team and Ministry. You will work with other passionate and innovative people in an environment where flexibility, enterprise and collaboration define the way we do things.

If you believe in our purpose and commitment and want to be a part of our close-knit team, come join an organisation where you will be recognised and feel valued for your hard work and success here at Ministry for Pacific Peoples.
