New appointment to the Pacific Business Trust Board

Following a Cabinet appointment process, Tu'u'u Maeata'anoa Luamanu (Lou) Maea has been appointed as a member of the Pacific Business Trust (PBT) Board for a three-year term.

PBT is a charitable trust that supports Pacific peoples through business advisory services, training and financial assistance. It works to strengthen Pacific economic participation, economic growth and entrepreneurship across Aotearoa New Zealand.

Mr Maea brings more than two decades of experience across the finance, governance, risk management, community development, housing, health, humanitarian and international development sectors. Mr Maea is a New Zealand-qualified accountant and experienced governance leader.  

His work alongside Pacific communities, combined with his expertise in governance and financial management, positions him well to support the PBT as it continues to support Pacific businesses and entrepreneurs.

As new board member, Mr Maea will support the board's strategic direction, helping to strengthen the PBT's impact and advance its mission of enabling Pacific peoples to succeed in business and enterprise.

The Ministry for Pacific Peoples welcomes Mr Maea’s appointment and looks forward to the leadership and experience he will bring to PBT.
