A panel of passionate Pacific youth has announced the Pasifika Way Makers Fund, proudly supported by Ministry for Pacific Peoples (MPP) and Foundation North, is officially live.
Working together, MPP and Foundation North are providing $200,000 in funding grants to a panel of 13 Pacific youth aged 18-26 (the Pasifika Way Makers Panel).
The group of insightful and ambitious youth from Niue, Samoa, Tonga, Tokelau, and Tuvalu, will then allocate the funding to support projects aimed at benefiting Pacific young people, their families, and communities in South Auckland.
This participatory grant-making initiative aims to empower young Pacific leaders and provide them with the resources and support to make a positive impact on their communities.
By involving young Pacific leaders in the decision-making process, the initiative also aims to create positive change and promote greater inclusion and representation within Pacific communities.
The panel has chosen to distribute $200,000 of funding in $10,000 grants to various initiatives.
Applications for the fund are now open and will remain open until May 17, 2023.
