The Prime Minister of Samoa is the keynote speaker at the WE Summit, and will be joined by an array of other inspirational speakers.
Auckland-based business services company WE is holding its annual WE Summit on November 3-4, providing a vibrant burst of inspiration at a time when businesses need it the most.
A hybrid event - online and in person in Samoa, the summit features a stellar line-up of speakers focused on three prominent themes - indigenous leadership, female leadership and leadership throughout the current pandemic.
Samoa’s Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataʻafa spearheads the event, along with Chief Women’s Football Officer at FIFA Sarai Bareman, Director at NZTE and Chiefs Rugby and trusted advisor to Māori, Government and Industry Traci Houpapa MNZM JP, and Raylene Whitford, the Director of Canative Energy and a prominent Indigenous Finance professional in Canada.
Company Director Wyndi Tagi cannot wait for the event, which will be live in Samoa, and accessed online in New Zealand and the rest of the world.
“The overall theme is Transformational Leadership and we really want to give businesses some inspiration on how to lead their companies and communities through these tough times,” Wyndi says.
“We are so privileged to have the Samoan Prime Minister giving the keynote address - she is a huge inspiration to us all in the Māori and Pacific business space.”
There are also numerous breakout speakers talking about more practical matters like Cashflow, HR, Public Relations, Health and Safety, Marketing and Sustainability.
“We want people to leave inspired, but also with a wealth of practical information to help them grow their businesses,” Wyndi adds.
“It’s been a huge success the last two times we have held the event and this one looks to be the best yet.”
Wyndi, and her husband (and co-owner of WE) Eli Tagi are looking forward to showcasing indigenous and wāhine business owners and how they have utilised their authenticity to grow sustainable organisations.
“We have game changers that are breaking glass ceilings and we hope that by listening to these incredible speakers, summit attendees will understand the importance of doing business your way,” she says.
“So many of our clients almost seem to need permission to be themselves - we want to help them harness their unique offering so it creates not only a business, but a world they love - and one that inspires them.”
The company has never shied away from tough topics at their events and Eli says it is all about being raw, authentic and true.
“Last time WE tackled mental health and wellbeing and overcoming challenges,” he says.
“This year obviously has a lot of unique challenges for many businesses so we want to keep the conversations going so we can help people leverage their business forward in this changing environment.
“People are looking for new ideas and inspiration, and to connect with other business owners across the globe, which is a great advantage of a hybrid event.”
