Tālofa lava, MPP has set up this page in response to severe weather which is currently impacting our communities in Gisborne Tairāwhiti.
A local State of Emergency was declared for the Gisborne Tairāwhiti region at 4.45pm on 22 June 2023. For more information, visit the Tairāwhiti Civil Defence webpage.
If you or your loved ones are in this region and need to evacuate, please ensure it is safe to do so and take any important medications, essential items for babies and children and warm clothing with you. Please ensure that you and your aiga are safe and well first before looking to support others.
